Library Research Guide for Getty Scholars

This guide highlights information about the Getty Library's collections and services.

Scanners and Photocopiers

The following are self-service and free of charge to use:

Book Scanners

There are two book scanners located on the Plaza Level near the Reference Desk and one on L2 near the Periodicals compact shelving. Scanners are free of charge to use. Functionality includes emailing a PDF, saving to a USB drive, and printing. A short library blog post on scanners is available here http://blogs.getty.edu/library/2016/10/05/book-scanners/

Microform scanning

On L2 there is a ViewScan Microform scanner that allows detailed image editing, emailing, or sending scanned files to Google Drive or Dropbox. Also, there are several standard microform readers with print functionality.

Photocopiers

There are black and white photocopiers on each level as well as a color photocopier on the Plaza level. Codes for the copiers can be obtained at the Reference Desk. The codes bypass the need to insert money.

Internet

The Getty offers Eduroam, global wifi roaming for academia. For more information read the library blog announcement http://blogs.getty.edu/library/2018/02/01/eduroam-now-at-the-getty/

The library offers wifi. The network name is GettyLink.

To access subscription databases on a personal laptop or off-site you must connect to the Getty network via OneConnect.
