Library Research Guide for Getty Scholars

This guide highlights information about the Getty Library's collections and services.

Provenance Resources

The GRI holds one of the strongest collections of resources in the world for the study of provenance and the history of western European art collections. The library's holdings include an extensive collection of dealer and auction catalogs, collectors files, the Photo Archive, and original primary materials such as the inventories of private collections and the papers of art critics and art historians who have been closely involved with the art market.
