Images of Getty Collections

There are a few ways to search for selected digitized images from the Getty Research Institute Library's collection. Images are freely available and downloadable. Some can be used for publication without the Getty's permission.

  • Getty Search Gateway Multiple Getty collections accessible through one search tool, includes J. Paul Getty Museum, GRI Research Library, as well as the Getty Open Content Program.  
  • The Library Catalog includes all Research Library collections, including digitized items. To narrow down results select "GRI Digital Collections."

Additional options for obtaining digital images of items not available in the above resources

  • Take your own study images with a digital camera during your Special Collections Reading Room appointment in accordance with the digital camera policy.
  • Submit an Imaging Services request form during your Special Collections Reading Room appointment. Ask the room supervisor for guidance.
